Spoil Your Dog With Dog Treats

There’s more than one way to spoil your dog, and it won’t cost a bundle.

Spoiling your dog does not mean you have to spend the big bucks on rhinestone doggie fashions and diva dog beds. You can spoil your dog by making him some dog treats.

Here's a great recipe for Disappearing Dog Treats

Disappearing Dog Treats

5 tablespoons margarine
3/4 cup hot water
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg beaten
3 cups whole-wheat flour

Place the margarine in a large bowl. Pour the hot water over the margarine. Stir in powered milk, salt and egg. Add flour, one-half cup at a time.

Knead the mixture for a few minutes to form a stiff dough. Pat or roll the dough to one-half inch thickness. (Flour your rolling pin as needed.) Cut using a bone-shaped cookie cutter.

Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool on a rack. This recipe will make just over 1 pound of treats. Allow the treats to dry out hard and then store in a container with a tight-fitting lid.

You can make training treats by using little scoops of dough and cutting the baking time in half.
